No.8:  Todworm
Rummage for long enough around the roots of a tree, and you may be unfortunate enough to find a smooth glossy flesh tube. For pity’s sake don’t touch it, as this is one of the Todworm’s four sticky danglers.
This cowardly and vindictive bag of blood and bones clings to the highest part of the tree trunk, and extends its long rubbery tendrils all the way down to the ground.  Touch one of these, and it will quickly coil itself tightly around you, making you bulge in all the wrong areas. It will then whip you up into the air, catapulting you over the trees, and out of the forest, to a distance of up to four miles.
When you land, the slime from the Todworm’s tail will be smeared all over your broken sack of a body, and will cause numerous mushrooms and fungi to grow on you with alarming speed. Within hours you will look exactly like a rotten old log, and vermin of all kinds will be compelled to burrow into you and lay their poisonous eggs.
It is unknown why the Todworm carries out these seemingly pointless acts of malice, as anyone who has tried to find out, is now a mouldy old log full of spiders.
